TTU School of Law Hooding Ceremony

Degree candidates from the following colleges at Texas Tech University will receive their diplomas on May 16th at the United Supermarkets Arena.

6:00pm, Saturday, May 16, 2026

Doors are scheduled to open for guests 1.5 hours prior to the start of the ceremony. 

All staff, graduates, and guests will be required to pass through a security screening system. Please plan accordingly, as all individuals are subject to inspection. 

The Clear Bag Policy is in effect for this event. Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12", or small clutch bags (not exceeding 4½” x 6½”) may be taken into the venue. An exception may be made for medically necessary items upon inspection.

Other purses and backpacks will not be allowed, and all small bags meeting the clear bag policy will be inspected.  Prohibited items must either be returned to the owner's vehicle or discarded; the arena will not provide a storage area for these items. 

Signs that may obstruct the view of the stage for others, banners, and air horns / noise makers are prohibited to help maintain the dignity of this special occasion. 

The arena is a no smoking venue. The use of tobacco and vape products is prohibited.

The arena is a CHL exclusionary zone for this event (guns free). Open carry is prohibited at all arena events. Please see the complete list of Building Policies & Prohibited Items for more details.

Each guest is permitted to bring one unopened bottle of water. All other outside food and beverages are prohibited. Limited concessions such as water, soda, popcorn, and candy will be available for purchase.

IMPORTANT PARKING & TRAFFIC INFORMATION:

Graduates and their guests are strongly encouraged to carpool and to plan to arrive early.

Please plan for a significant increase in traffic volume and allow plenty of time to park and to avoid last-minute traffic congestion and lines at the door.

Free parking is available in the student commuter lots west (across Indiana Avenue), accessible from the Texas Tech Parkway & Knoxville.  Free parking will also be available in the lots south and southeast of the arena.

ADA parking is located in the Arena's west R37 lot (accessible by Indiana Avenue, approaching from south of 19^th street), with overflow into the arena's north C11 parking lot (accessible by way of Main Street, travelling west from Flint Avenue).
